Products - Cheese
Our cheese buyer has thirty year's experience in the industry, and has put together a range of the finest cheeses from across Europe, with the emphasis on France, Italy and Britain. Our cheese makers have been very carefully selected for quality and consistency, whether it be a small artisan producer or one of Europe's leading producers. We never compromise on quality.

Our main picture shows a wedding cake we were asked to design. We used five British cheeses from artisan cheesemakers, and it provided guests with 100 portions. Served with grapes, it was a huge success.
As well as making an excellent alternative to the traditional wedding cake, whole cheeses can also provide a stunning display and talking point, whether in a shop window or as the centrepiece at a banquet or buffet.
Delicatessen
Many of our charcuterie products come direct from Italy, including fantastic cured ham such as prosciutto, pancetta and speck, which we offer along with traditional English and Danish hams, either whole or sliced. Cooked salt beef and pastrami are both available whole or sliced, made to our own special recipe from the finest brisket (we never use silverside). We have several types of smoked salmon from the cool waters of the north of Scotland, and from southern Europe the sun plays its part, with a select range of olives, olive oil and vegetables in oil. In short, a fabulous spread of some of the best regional products that Europe has to offer.
Butchery
We have our own in-house butchery, a link to our roots in 19th Century Smithfield market. Even now, some of our meat comes from Smithfield at the crack of dawn, before being prepared to our customers exact specification for despatch the same morning.
We offer a bespoke service for contracts with a requirement for speciality products and we are always very happy to source just the right product for a menu, whether it be Welsh lamb, barbary duck, veal, free-range chicken or kobi beef.
We also specialise in aged Scottish beef. Traditionally reared herds are grass fed in the North of Scotland around Inverurie. The cattle are from fully traceable herds of genuine Scottish origin. The beef is then matured on the bone for enhanced tenderness and flavour before being expertly prepared by our butchers. Our grazier is one of the most respected in Scotland, and we have been buying beef from them for over 25 years.
Customers who would normally not be able to order sufficient meat to make up an order for delivery on its own are able to benefit from our range and quality, simply by taking advantage of our one stop service.
Bacon and Gammon
For those who cook their own hams, we offer gammons (both bone-in and boneless) and other cuts of bacon, from Denmark and England. Denmark has been the major exporter of bacon to the UK for several hundred years, and with good reason. The bacon is of a very high quality and uniform size and consistency, and the British love their bacon far more than the Danes do!
Our English charter bacon and gammon is produced from pigs reared in the Wiltshire area. The pork is cured using a unique live Wiltshire cure which has remained unchanged for generations, and the result is a full flavoured, traditional taste. For those who like to offer bacon like it used to be, choose from whole backs or streaks (smoked or unsmoked). Nothing beats the taste of a home cooked ham, and for this you need either a bone in gammon, or a whole or half horseshoe gammon. Salt Beef
Hensons is famous for its salt beef, a premium product which is supplied to many of the top names in London, and which regularly attracts rave reviews from the country's top food writers. Find out all about salt beef and pastrami at our dedicated website here
