You probably know that Henson’s salt beef comes already trimmed, fully cured and ready to cook. You don’t need to add anything other than water, but there are lots of different ways of preparing salt beef.
Hensons’ managing director Andrew Brook says –
‘I like to add a few root vegetables to the stock, plus thyme (my favourite herb) two or three cloves and a handful of peppercorns. My top tip, though, is to add a couple of peeled beetroots – adds a hint of sweetness and colour to the beef’.
