By common consent the highlight of the year in the food industry in London is the Bord Bia Irish Food Board trade reception at the Irish Embassy, hosted by the Irish Ambassador every December.
The reception celebrates the close links between the food industries of the UK and Ireland.
This year we were honoured and delighted when Head Chef, Patrick Flynn, chose Hensons Famous Salt Beef as part of his canapé menu. The beef was gently poached in black pepper and bay leaves, chilled, then cut into cubes and served on cocktail sticks with slithers of gherkin and topped with sweet pickle.
Hensons Famous Salt Beef is made with prime joints of brisket from grass fed cattle, from farms in Tipperary and the surrounding counties of Ireland.
